So, Crystal you teach Indoor cycling??? Yep, also known as Spin/Spinning/Indoor cycling. Cycling has ranked among the top fitness trends for nearly three decades—and it shows no sign of losing that desire for it.

Here is a little of my personal history... So I was in a horrible relationship, and honestly my pain from that relationship drove me to wanting to get myself in shape. Thank God It ended, because apparently it was just what I needed to feel better about myself because the suicidal thoughts were just too much to bear. I started working out at a small studio. I was allowed to pay per class, and that made me comfortable because I didn't want to make the "big gym" commitment.

I literally had no desire or drive to have any type of social life, besides, I had lost MOST of all the people I liked to call friends. Its interesting but the relationships that I forged that came out of that horrible situation seem stronger, and almost worth fighting for. I got used to being away from them, and so I started taking the class 5 days a week. I would literally work all day, go home, eat and change clothes, and head to the studio. 60 minutes to zone out and focus on anything else but my own thoughts. My own feelings, and the pain that I was experiencing. I had dropped down 15 lbs or so, and not in a good way. I was looking frail, and unhealthy, it was a really hard time in my life.

Class was hard, I felt defeated many times. I NEVER quit. I was always sore AF for at least two solid weeks.I was slowly getting my appetite back. But I never gave up. I was already an educator, and had the skills to "teach," but The more I rode, the stronger I felt mentally, an physically. I had a conversation with my instructor after class one day and made up in my mind that I was going to take it to another level. So I decided... I got my certification, and started looking for positions. (Just like that, this new me was certain I was done taking shit from mofo's, and I knew I wanted to look good doing it.)

Right NOW, about 34.7 million people are in on the cycling tip and loving it! Yes, indoor cycling classes have been popping in gyms and health clubs for ever, but now there hundreds of dedicated cycling studios have popped up in cities across the world! I know what you're thinking, What is all the fuss about???

The Preserve HTX

I currently teach a cycling class at The Preserve HTX (yep this ole' pretty thang.) Where were promote "Getting results on YOUR Terms" Here at The Preserve, You can workout in a small group class, swim, cycle, practice yoga, Pilates, workout with a trainer, or on your own! Here are a few things to know about my cycling class before you come!

  • DRESS FOR COMFORT. You will be sweating (Come through drippn') and that ASS WILL be sore. I do NOT suggest wearing sweats, I would wear anything DryFit, and try your best to wear something fitted. At our facility, You can only wear cycling or Spinning shoes, You can rent them and eventually when you become a pro? You can buy your own (with your fancy self)

  • BRING A WATER BOTTLE. You will want to wipe sweat between songs, and be sure to sip on a water bottle throughout your session to replenish yourself and stay hydrated. We do provide you with towels!

  • ADJUST YOUR BIKE. Adjust the bike to fit to YOUR body. The techs will help, you, and of course so will I.

My class is energetic, you will feel the beat in your heart. (yessss) It is fun, its a great cardiovascular workout. You will sweat, you will breathless, and you will sleep well, lol. Please swing by and come see me! Remember, Whatever shape you're in, you didn't get in it overnight, so pace yourself. Stay tuned for details on the way I eat, and keep my body especially hydrated. See you soon!
